Lars, I believe from looking at the other possibilities that showed up during my search on FamilySearch.org that the man buried in Nelson County is a different man, with a different birth date, and NOT the man you are seeking. For years I have tried to figure out what became of this gentleman: Ludvig Christopherson Hillestad born Aug. 10, 1884 in Hafslo parish, Luster Co., Norway emigrated in 1904 as a machinist to Minnesota was in 1918 (WW1 draft) a farm laborer at Mandan, Morton Co., ND When Ludvig's father died in Bergen, Norway in 1921, it was said they had not heard from Ludvig since 1915, and noone knew whether he was still alive! In the East Sarnia cemetery in Nelson Co., ND is buried this man: Ludvig HELESTADÂ 1885-1937 However, I don't find thus person in the ND Death Index - maybe due to a misspelling? I strongly suspect this be "our" Ludvig, but can someone please help me find additional details about him? * An exact date and place of his death? * An obituary? * Maybe other newspaper clippings? * Where was he in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 censuses? Thanks a million in advance for your great assistance in this matter! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Oyane
