Dear Greg and other Listers! Thank you very much, Greg, for your quick reply to my latest inquiry about Ludvig Hillestad - Helestad(?). There is no need to send me the WW1 draft record since I can also access this from my side (FamilySearch and ancestry.com). I can see why you question whether the Ludvig Helestad I found in Nelson Co., ND can be the "right" Ludvig! There was also a Ludvig Helseth who in 1918 was a resident of Petersburg in Nelson Co., ND, and he was born near Aalesund, Norway Dec. 5, 1885! Hmmm, I wonder... But then I see on ancestry.com a family tree of one Louis Nicoli Helseth, born in Norway Dec. 4, 1884, who died in Anoka, MN July 8, 1967! He does look suspiciously like Ludvig Helseth, doesn't he? His SS record even shows he was born Dec. 4, 1885! SO, I still believe Ludvig Helestad in the East Sarnia cemetery in Nelson Co., ND MAY be "my" Ludvig...? Thanks again for any suggestions and assistance to find the answers to my questions!! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Dear Greg and other Listers! I wanted to let you all know; this problem has been solved: Ludvig was found residing 1925 in Cleveland township, Walsh Co., ND and in 1930 in Dahlen township, Nelson Co., ND. This is not far from the East Sarnia cemetery, and by phone I have now examined the records of the Sarnia Lutheran church which tell me that Ludvig Hillestad (with this spelling!) died on Mar. 15, 1937 at the Hospital in Lakota, ND! His age shows a perfect "match"! So, one person less to be researched, although an OBITUARY would still be of interest in order to obtain more precise details about Ludvig's life...? Thanks again to all listers for your wonderful assistance solving my questions, all beneficial to the readers of the bygdebooks of Luster Co., Norway! Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
