Lars, If he was a Marine, his service records should still exist but it costs to get them. I got the records for my uncles, one a Marine and the other in the Navy. Most Army and Air Force records from that time period were destroyed in a fire. Maybe the daughter would order them. Dear Barbara, Annette and other Listers! Thank you very much for your latest contributions to my inquiry about Robert Donald and Edith Walker! I have forwarded the reference to the National Archives to their daughter, Lori, encouraging her to go ahead ordering a service record for her father! By the way, I should mention: According to the daughter Lori, and also from what her adoptive mother/aunt have said, Robert Donald and Edith had TWO daughters, the older one called Deborah, was born about 1954, but according to Lori, Deborah was taken away from her mother at a young age and given up for adoption! We run into an interesting family history, but it also sounds like a history full of pain and suffering! I am sure a lot of interesting information could be revealed if relatives of Edith's in Minnesota could be located. Some of her siblings may still be alive...! Very sincerely yours, Lars E.
