Dear Listers, Another challenge has come up which I would like to share with you: Susanna Nilsdotter (Walager) born July 6, 1848 Hafslo, Norway emigrated in 1866 The 1870 census shows Susan with parents Nels (Solfestson) and Anna (Larsdotter) residing on a farm in Vermont township, Dane Co., WI - Susanna has two (illegitimate) children: * Ole - born in WI fall 1866 * Mary - born in WI fall 1868 I strongly suspect Susan "on purpose" "twisted " these names, since the birth records show: * Anna Betzine, born in McFarland, Dane Co., WI Sep. 8, 1866 - parents Peder Pederson and Susanna Nilsdotter * Kjerstine Fredrikke, born in Vermont, Dane Co., WI Aug. 11, 1868 - parents Nils Lasseson and Susanna Nilsdotter Susanna's mother Anna died in Vermont township, Dane Co., WI about 1873, and in Dec. of 1876 Nels "Sylvester" remarried in Lodi, Columbia Co., WI Christine Olson, a widow from Lodi, WI where he died about 1890. Any suggestions in regard to the destiny of Susanna and/or her children would be more than welcome!
