    3. I joined this list a bit ago and have enjoyed everyone's questions and suggestions. I have found some new resources for my own research. I have found an ELCA record on Ancestry that I need a couple of words translated, but I don't believe you can use a link? If I am wrong, please let me know. I am hoping someone with access to Ancestry would look at a death record. If you do an exact search for Gunhild Maria, born 1847, died 1870 and there will be only one record. It is the fourth entry on the left page:"Gunhild Maria, daughter of Andreas Nelsen and wife Ingeberg, born 15th January 1847, married with Hans Johansen 5th May 1870, died in -?- -?- November 1870." I am hoping this might be a clue for something - anything. I can find nothing of this marriage. Or on the 1870 census, which is dated August, so they should be listed. She is not with her family in Palmyra, Jefferson Co, WI. She is buried at Skoponong Cemetery in Palmyra, with her family. In fact, she has a shared headstone with her sister, Kari, who died four years after her, and on this headstone is listed her husband again, Hans Johansen ( Gunhild Marie Nielson (1846 - 1870) - Find A Grave Memorial ). There is an entry for him at FindaGrave, but I don't believe he is buried there (engraved over the sisters' names is 'here is resting the dust from sisters'). I have never come across a death record with husband and marriage date listed (maybe because so recent?), then his name on the headstone also, when he is not buried there. The family was in Gibralter, Door Co, WI in 1860 and she was 14 years old. I don't know when between 1860 and 1870 they moved to Palmyra, but maybe she stayed in Door County? She was buried the day after she died, so she must have been living close. Any help would be appreciated - she has been a mystery. Wanda
