Hi my name is Ann and I after some help in finding out about the ships my father was on in the early part of WW2. My father was at sea when the war broke out and I was always under the impression that he was on the trans Atlantic Run & also into Russia. My dad died when I was 17 so at that time in my life and also his it was not spoken about. What I do know is that he joined the Royal Norwegian Navy as a Gunner in late 1941 I have photo's of him at a passing out parade & Xmas party in Canada. Dad joined the M/S "Viva" on the 13/2/1942 don't know the port probably in Canada or USA. Signed off the "Viva" in Sydney Australia 20/11/1942 & then on the S/S "Agnes", after this point all his signing on & off are in Sydney. He arrived back in Sydney on the M/S "Anders Jane" the day the war ended with Japan. Is there some web site that I could find out the information that I"m after?? I'm really interested in his time in the merchant navy. Also is there records at which ports ships docked during the war?? Hoping for a miracle Ann --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com
I'm not sure if M/S Viva and D/S Viva is the same ship. Also contain a list of crew members http://warsailors.com/singleships/viva.html Halvor in Lier -----Opprinnelig melding----- From: Ann Graham via Sent: Sunday, April 19, 2015 12:49 PM To: NORWAY@rootsweb.com Subject: [NOR] help wanted Hi my name is Ann and I after some help in finding out about the ships my father was on in the early part of WW2.
