    3. Steve, What you can be sure of is that this Fatland farm is the source of your friend's name. But I don't know that any of your friend's ancestors are on this farm at the time of the 1801 census. Søndre Bergenhuus is just an old name for Hordaland Schonevigs = Skånevik Aakre = Åkra According to the tree by Randy Schroder, Ole Fatland's father was Ingebrigt Thorsen... I think this is Ingebrigt in the 1801 census with his parents on Aakne farm. <http://gda.arkivverket.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=6&filnamn=f18011212&gardpostnr=76&personpostnr=1289&merk=1289#ovre> Cliff Lien Alberta, Canada cjl@interbaun.com -----Original Message----- From: Steve Sent: Friday, March 13, 2015 10:50 AM To: Cliff Lien ; norway@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [NOR] Fatland family location Cliff, that is outstanding! Is there a specific line you're looking at in the second page of records? It looks similar to the US Census where the husband is listed first, then the wife, and their children, etc. Is there a direct translation for Tjæneste dræng or Tjæneste girl or Tjæner de gamle? Am I correct that this is the location of the Fatland settlement? Southern Bergen? Amt Prestegjeld Sokn Gard/hus 68 Søndre Bergenhuus Schonevigs Aakre Fatland Any clarification you can give would be great. Thanks again! Steve
