I have a big challenge for you today which I hope someone can help me solve: The 1910 census for Hempstead, Nassau Co., NY shows this family: ~~~~~ DOYLE, John F. Jr. 40 NY NY NY real estate agent DOYLE, Evangeline 37 ME ME ME wife DOYLE, John F. 2nd 2 NY NY ME son …………., Josephine 22 Fin Din Fin cook - emigrated 1909 CHRISTIANSEN, Anna 32 Nor Nor Nor nurse - emigrated (blank) ~~~~~ I strongly suspect this Anna Christiansen to be identical to this girl who in 1912 was on a visit to Christiania (Oslo), Ńorway from New York: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000001128325 Her birthdate is given as Sep. 25, 1877, and I can only find ONE Anna Christiansen in Norway with this birthdate: Anna Magdalena Christiansen, also called Olsen, born in Bergen Sep. 25, 1877, daughter of Christian Olsen (Breisnes) and Marie Andersdotter. Anna Magdalena lived in Bergen until 1899, but is nowhere to be found in the Norwegian 1900 census. I am ALMOST certain Anna Magdalena is the nurse last known to have been alive and unmarried in New York in 1912!? BUT is it possible to figure out what became of Anna after 1912? Maybe she married? Thanks a million in advance for any suggestions! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Dear Jerry and other Listers! Thank you very much, Jerry, for this message in regard to Anna Christiansen. The candidate you found may or may not be the Anna who went to Nassau Co., NY. However, since I made the posting, I have discovered there were indeed TWO Anna Christiansons in Norway born on the same day, Sep. 17, 1877, and passenger records from Norway have revealed that the nurse who went to Nassau Co., NY, was the OTHER one, Anna Martine Christiansen, born in Arendal, Norway on that very same day… This brings me «back to square #one» as far as «my» Anna Magdalena Christiansen is concerned, so what happened to the nurse upstate NY is at this point less of interest to me! I wanted to let you know to save on time looking for her! What happened to «my» Anna, is still a big mystery! We don’t even have a proof she ever emigrated, so then it’s kind of hard to look for her… She may even have used OLSEN as a last name… Thanks again for your great assistance trying to find my «elusive» emigrant families!
