    1. Utkokmmandert meaning help
    2. Well, I guess I flunk Tolken, Haugen and history lessons :(... There is a sentence that is in the Ulvik book that says: Aslak was utkokmmandert som soldat in 1718 og med på Tordenskjold sin galleiflotilje m.a. ved Marstrand. What does utkokmmandert and m.a. mean? A cook commander-something? ;) I have rechecked the spelling! And just so you know -- I am ready, braced and looking forward to any wise cracks...as if I have any say about it... ;) Thank you as always! Stephanie

    3. Aslak was conscripted as a soldier in 1718 and was on Tordenskjold's fleet of galleyships among other (places) at Marstrand. And since you ask for a wise crack. :-) I see that you managed to translate the "i" And it's not utkokmmandert, but... utkommandert. m.a is abbr. (which BTW means abbreviated) for "mellom anna" or as you say: among other things. In my part of the country we use bl.a. "blant annet" Bolster3@aol.com wrote: > Aslak was utkokmmandert som soldat in 1718 og med på Tordenskjold sin galleiflotilje m.a. ved Marstrand. >
