    3. I don't know about Oregon (altho I do need DCs from OR), but I can tell you for certain that certain counties in Montana also have images of the original death certificates online (I don't think all MT counties are on FamilySearch, but these were counties in western Montana).  I was able to download the ones for my father, his brother & wife & son, some others farther out on the branches of my family tree, as well as images for my sil's father and other of her family members (I think I found marriage documents on FS in Missouri for her family, too). For Lars' queries, I will suggest alternate American spellings for Heggelund: Heglund or Hegland.  The latter spelling was used in northwestern Minnesota in the 1960s and earlier when I went to high school with someone with the Hegland spelling.  (A lot of people from that area had ancestors from Aust-Agder, so that American spelling may originate from there instead of the Sogn og Fjordane region.  I don't know who her ancestors were, just that there were a lot of Norwegians with Aust-Agder roots in the area.) Otto Schumann, Jr., employed in the mechanical department of the O. R. & N. Co., and Lasadia Llljyette Consuela Heggelund were married at 7 o'clock last might at the home of the bride’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heggelund at 998 East Morrison street. Rev. J. J.- - Staub. of Sunnyside Congregational Church, performed the ceremony. M. L. Retlley. acted as best man, and a relative of the bride was bridesmaid. The bride and bridegroom were school-day playmates. The bride carried a small bouquet of white carnations, and the bridesmaid carried pink carnations. A small company of relatives witnessed the ceremony. It was necessary for him to leave immediately afterward, a service at 7:30 demanding his presence. The couple planned a short honeymoon, but declined to tell, except to their most intimate friends, where they intend to go. 3. Dear Listers, Several states now offer free online databases for death certificates, 9including Indiana, Missouri and, I think, Idaho, and others can be viewed at FamilySearch research centers, including Illinois, Minnesota and Washington, at least for certain time periods, but how about Oregon? I still remember the days when our dear Daraleen was able to make lookups of death certificates from Oregon at the Oregon State Historical Society, but she is long gone, and I wonder, does anyone know whether these certificates can be anywhere viewed without having to purchase certified copies - or visiting the Oregon State Historical Society in person? Every once in a while I get to deal with Oregon families, and right now I am trying to complete the biography of a family involving this couple: * Edward Charles HEGGELUND, died in Portland, OR Nov. 8, 1935 * Mary Fannie HEGGELUND, died in Portland, OR Sep. 21, 1922 * Lilly HEGGELUND, died in Portland, OR Sep. 1, 1955 And from earlier I am very interested in this person who is my mother’s 1st cousin: * Rudolph BARNES, died in Portland, OR June 30, 1973 The latter may be too recent to be accessed... I presume OBITUARIES could partly compensate for missing death records, so if such can be found, I would also be very happy! Thanks a million for your great assistance in this matter! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Oyane
