    3. De Flon is apparently French and although some of this thread is in Swedahoovian, you can easily follow most of it. http://aforum.genealogi.se/discus/messages/576/104220.html?1057151917 As far as "what country does De Flon come from" this is interesting :-) <begin snip> - Johan Constant de Flon, b in Bourdeaux France, marries in Liège (in the then French-speaking Spanish Netherlands) Maria Gilliusdotter De Besche, whose family, stemming from the same area, had immigrated to Sweden <end snip> Interesting stuff... Clarke's mention of the name sounding like a Dutch name, brought it to mind and perhaps it might help with your search. They are both listed in the Duluth Public Library obituary index. http://www.duluth.lib.mn.us/research-answers/databases-a-z/obituary-index/ Copies of obits can be ordered through the library at $2 each. http://www.duluth.lib.mn.us/research-answers/genealogy-local-history/obit-request-form/ Their service has been good and prompt in the past, and they'll bill you instead of wanting payment up front. I would like to share this reply with the List: > "They are buried in Parkview Cemetery Hastings. Block M, lot 42. It just might be that someone on the list has a possibility to locate these obituaries of the Bercks in online newspapers now that we know they are buried at the Parkview cemetery at Hastings, NE, and we have a corrected death date for Charles Berck. Thanks again for your wonderful assistance in this matter! Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Oyane ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Apr 5, 2015, at 8:27 AM, Lenise Cook wrote: > Hi again Lars > > Charles and Susan are not buried in Ebenezer or in Oak Ridge cemeteries unless they have unmarked graves, which would be unusual. My friend Marilyn has walked both those cemeteries and recorded all the stones in both places and they are not there. SHe is also the one who checked the Howard County papers. I suspect that the Bercks are probably buried in the Hastings area, Adams County, since they are listed in the Hastings city directory in 1922. So your search for funeral homes would be better concentrated there. There are a lot of burials entered for Adams county in the find-a-grave data base but there aren't any Bercks listed, so I'm not sure if they moved again between 1922 and 1925 when Charles died, but their son Charles Herman was still living in Hastings in 1930 so I would be very surprised if they weren't buried somewhere near Hastings. > > I have put out a request for information to the Nebraska GenWeb county coordinators list to see if anyone can find anything and will pass on anything they come up with. > > > Lenise > > On Apr 4, 2015, at 1:34 PM, Lars E. Thank you for any help deciphering them! ~ Eve First, I have found what I think is the engagement/banns of my ggggg-grandparents Peder Siversen Bakke (Bache) and Aslaug (Aaslou) Olsdatter. There is a word after Aaslou Olsdatter's name. I am not sure if it might be the farm name, and if so, what that might be. It is the entry on the right hand side, near the top, 5 lines down. Holt Bygdebok has only that she might have been from Tvedestrand. *Kildeinformasjon:* Aust-Agder fylke, Holt, Klokkerbok nr. What is the "J" word heading and what does it mean? It is something about Peder Bache's wife. This category shows up often, but the term is new to me, haven't seen it in other parishes. I am thinking that it might be the women were reintroduced after a birth of a child, but the term is unfamiliar. Aust-Agder fylke, Holt, Klokkerbok nr.
