I knew about Ingvald's death and that he was single. Thanks for finding the death and burial of Henriette. How did you know she married Erling Henriksen? Do you know when and where he died? Do you know when he was born? I am now confused about Klara Marie. She was not on the 1910 Census and was not confirmed. Clark Pederson found her death and burial in 1910. The name, father's name, and place of birth and residence are right. How do we know Klara Marianne (different name) Andersen is supposed to be Klara Marie Nilsen? I see the birth date is the same, but I really think Klara Marie was dead in 1910. I would love to know what you think. Edward A. I am embarrassed, but very grateful for your keen eye. I really did go through this record more than once and did not catch it. I must not have read the name as Klara, but that is no excuse because it gives the father's name, and the place of birth and residence are Tyttebærvik where I knew they lived. Maybe I was too tired. I don't think the cause of death is given. One of the earlier names has kraft written, but I think it should be kreft or kræft, both of which I have seen before, meaning cancer. I think if everyone on the page died of cancer there would have at least been ditto marks or something, and I think it would be rare for all of those females to die of cancer in that short time period. I admit to being computer and printer illiterate. I have been trying to print church records and can only get the very small size. What am I doing wrong. I have read the instruction on the digitalarkivet help site which basically says-use your browser. I do but cannot get a decent size picture to print. Help me please before I go crazy. Thank you. Little Lena had just been given family-car privileges when she returned home very late from a party. The next morning her father, Ole, went out to the driveway to get the newspaper and came back into the house frowning. At 11:30am Little Lena sleepily walked into the kitchen, and Ole asked her, "Vhat time did yew get in last night?" "Not tew late, Dad," she replied nervously. Dead-pan, Ole said, "Den I'll have tew talk vith da paperboy about putting my paper under da front vheel of da car." Sent from my iPad John Ferman Minneapolis, MN

Any information would be greatly appreciated. The books have been in the Mesa Family History Center library. However, the library has been closed for a few years now. All the books are packed away, and they have no idea what they're going to about the building. I also have Between Rocks and Hard Places by Ann Urness Gesme, but I see it's no longer offered on Astri My Astri. I found them helpful since I was born and raised in MN in a community that was very heavily populated with Norwegian-Americans, so the bios and histories resonated with me. Vol. 2 & 3 of Ulvestad's books consist mostly of indices of names with references, sometimes mini-bios. Who are you looking for? For anyone else interested, all of these books are now on sale at the Astri My Astri web site. Gourley is prompt in sending out books once they are ordered. I got mine a week or less after ordering. [I have no business interest in Astri My Astri, nor do I know the owner; I'm just saying my experiences in ordering books from her web site were entirely positive.] http://www.astrimyastri.com/products/norwegians-in-america-their-history-and -record-3-volume-set http://www.astrimyastri.com/products/norwegians-in-america-some-records-of-t he-norwegian-emigration-to-america http://www.astrimyastri.com/products/history-of-the-norwegian-settlements-a- translated-and-expanded-version-of-the-1908-de-norske-settlementers-historie -and-the-1930-den-siste-folkevandring-sagastubber-fra-nybyggerlivet-i-amerik a-by-hjalmar-rued-holand Beste, Bev On 2/17/2017 6:54 PM, John Everson wrote: > Does anyone own the 3 volume set of books from AstriMyAstri.com - > Norwegians in America, their History and Record (years 1825-1913), > 3-Volume-Set by Martin Ulvestad? > I'm interested in buying them, but I first want to make sure they will be of > help in my research. Lisbeth, The 1940 census listed Dagny as a step-daughter and Helen was the informant. The relationship was supposed to be to the head of household, but Helen probably gave the relationship to herself. The marriage date for John and Helen was 4 Nov 1932 in Los Angeles County, California. The only reference to Dagny I could find was the 1940 census. I didn't find an obituary for Joan Sutton Olson, but if she died in Portland, Oregon in 2005, some of the listers from that area can probably find it. Have you tried any of the passenger lists on Norway Heritage for +/-1845? http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_year.asp?ye=1845 There's more than one Halvor Anderse(o)n in Vol. 3 of Ulvestad's book. Where, in Norway, did he live? Where did he live in the US? Bev On 2/17/2017 8:05 PM, Arlene Camp wrote: > I'm writing concerning the books you are talking about. Does anyone own the 3 volume set of books from AstriMyAstri.com - Norwegians in America, their History and Record (years 1825-1913), 3-Volume-Set by Martin Ulvestad? I'm interested in buying them, but I first want to make sure they will be of help in my research. If you own them, please email me and allow me to look up a few of my ancestors and see if there is much information about them, where they came from, where they settled, etc. I live in East Tennessee, maybe you might know of a library or place to reference the books. Thank you in advance, John Everson [email protected] Vonore, TN
