Here is the bride's birth and christening in Bragernes. She is #20 on the female page, born 19 Dec 1819, christened 3 April 1820. She is illegitimate, but the father's name matches her father's name on the marriage record. https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/1064/64 Edward A. So, no marriage record and no christenings for children... I wonder if they left the Norwegian Church? It's mid 1910's so alternate churches are becoming a bit more common? I had a friend who couldn't find any records for her ancestors. Someone up at the Salt Lake City library found them in disenters. But you probably already know about that. Dear Mark and other Listers! Thank you very much, Mark, for your message in regard to Cornelius Peterson of Seneca, NY. I have studied the information and compared with other records on ancestry.com, but, unfortunately, this Cornelius was quite obviously born in NY, and he was also married many years «too early» compared to the guy I am looking for! So, I fear we have to «eliminate» him as a «candidate»… Could it be that «our» Cornelius was killed in the Civil War? Are there any military records at all that can be consulted? Or are they all unavailable to the public? Thanks again for your great assistance in this matter! I'll keep hoping that something will appear, sooner or later… Very sincerely yours, Lars E. Okay, Edward. Something for me to go on. Entry #37; bottom half is a birth record for OLGA EMILIE, born 15 March / baptized 15 April 1892, to Lorents Isaksen and Elisabet Anna Erlandsdatter???, at Hanaa, Nesna, Nordland. "https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/2843/18215/101" I believe this is Lorents and Elisabet in the 1900 census, at Handaa, Nesna, with family, including Olga. "https://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/en-gb/ft/person/pf01037514001884" ...and again in the 1910 census, at Handå, Nesna, with two daughters. "https://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/en-gb/ft/person/pf01036909000350" I looked through Nesna records 1918 thru 1920 (for late baptism), but found no Olav Martin Lauritzen. Hei, Edward. I have looked through Nordland wedding files for Træna, Lurøy, and Nesna (1910 thru 1918).... as well as birth records for 1918... no positive results. What is the name of the 1st-born child? Does it state that he/she was born in- or out-of-wedlock? If the latter, we need to look beyond 1918 for a marriage registration, IF they were later married. In the 1910 census, Møller's father's name is listed as Laurits Farman Hansen. In 1910, Olga is listed as Olufine Emilie Jacobsen. This information might change our search parameters to family names Hansen and Jacobsen during that era, unless you have something else to prove otherwise. Without more detail, it becomes a page by page search through several records, which I'm happy to help with when given the time. Have a nice day! Hi Clark, Isn't it rather unusal for the birth and Baptism on the same day unless there was a very good chance the baby would not survive? Is it possible there was another born right after this one and was given the same name? There’s a family tree on Ancestry that might be your man. He was born 4 days after the date you gave. Cornelius Peterson Born on 28 Mar 1823 to Peter P Peterson and Catheryn Ditmars. Cornelius married Arriet Ten Quick and had 5 children. He passed away on 1895 in Village, Seneca, New York, USA. https://www.ancestry.com/genealogy/records/cornelius-peterson_130214996
On the 1910 Census Olga is listed as Olga Lorntsdatter born 15.3.1892. The oldest child is Olav Martin Lauritzen born 28/5 1918. Does not say legitimate or illegitimate. Møller's father is Lauritz Garmann Hansen. Thanks for looking through those marriage records. I checked them, too, so glad to see I didn't miss it there at least. Edward A.
