I am a direct descendant of John Norton (born c 1538 Hurstpierpoint Sussex UK). In 1818 a James Norton (born 1795 Hastings Sussex) emmigrated to Australia and started off our branch of the Norton Tribe(of Sussex and Australia). I know that their have been several marriges between the Marchant and Norton Families (that I have records for). Both families were prominent local families in mid Sussex.
