Dec. 17, 1842, d. Mar. 9, 1917 in Augusta, WI). He married his first wife, Eliza Bangle (b. 1847) on March 25, 1875 in Eau Claire Co., WI. They had two sons: Guy Aruna (b. Dec. 14, 1876, d. July 13, 1949, m. Christina Lammel) and William E. (b. 1878, d. abt. 1920). John's second wife's name was Rose Sage (m. 1889). Through this marriage he had a daughter named Pearl. John's parents died when he was 9 and he was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Morris of Ohio. He enlisted in the 52nd Reg. Ohio infantry and served 3 years.
