Saw the message 5/31 regarding Mariah and thought it might sound familiar. However, I don't think this is necessarily the persons you seek. I live in Southern New Jersey -- right across the river from Philadelphia, and my GGGF immigrated from England, was a Methodist circuit minister, and settled along the river in Logan Township. His farm, and that of his son, were later donated for a Methodist Church which is now dwarfed by the industrial park that surrounds it! Here's the possible names I found in our genealogy: Mary E. Norton - born 1841 daughter of John D. and Sarah (census). John D. Norton was born 3/10/1810 and died 11/4/1861, was married 1822 to Sara Shinn Davidson, b 1803-d 1888. John was son of Benjamin. Benjamin Norton was born 1775 and on 5/25/1797 married Sara Dilks. ~~~ However, John D. had a brother, son of Benjamin, whose name was William. William married a MARIAH DAVIDSON (1807-1886), and they raised 8 children together. Her death is suposedly local as she has a tombstone in the church cemetery. Now, one of their children is listed as MARIA but she was born in 1844, and was listed in one place as "died in infancy". ~~~ Now, if anyone else needs Norton information from South Jersey, or a trip to the cemetery to check things out, I may already have the record. I do photograph tombstones when they are located -- in my own attempt to locate "all of us!" __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
