Surnames: Norton, DeForest Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Qi3.2ACIB/1683 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Hannah Norton, Rufus Norton, Laura and Franklin Norton who were in the Rufus and Eunice DeForest household in Newtown, Fairfield, Ct. Census for 1850. Hannah was 22, Rufus was 5, and Laura and Franklin age 2. Since the boy was named Rufus, I assume that Hannah Norton is a DeForest, possibly a widow living with her parents with her three children. I also find Franklin again in the 1860 Census, this time in New Haven County, Ct. with his grandparents, Rufus and Eunice DeForest, but not as a Norton this time so it looks like he was adopted by his grandparents. His mother, Hannah is gone as well as his two siblings. If anyone can help me trace this family I would greatly appreciate it!
