England.married John Norton Darfield Church nr.Barnsley.England Nov.1866.John born Worsborough Barnsley. Jane, and children Mary Ann born Leeds c1869.John Jarvis c.1872 b.Pontefract. William b.18-10-1878 are in the 1881 census staying with John's sister Harriet Shepherd in Sheffield,no sign of John in England,had he already go to America? Can anyone help Please? Angela Jepson

Arriving in Allen Co., KS ( eastern KS) in 1872. There were Nortons in Chase Co., KS also. I know nothing of the other Kansas Norton's and do not believe they are related to me in any way. Joseph Gray had one son, Joseph Clarence Norton, and he had 2 surviving sons, Louis Gray Norton and Everett Clarence Norton, my father. Louis Gray Norton never married and had no issue.
