Don't know if this helps or not. Mercer is the brother of William Norton b.1740(also Fairfax) d 1821 who is my 4th great-grandfather.

    3. Folks: I'm not sure exactly what the scoop is on this particular bill, but I knew that it was in the works. What worries me is that people could be in real trouble for sharing info...which would appear to be a real threat to people who are researching their families. Thomas Norton was born 1795 and died 1866, he married Harriett (surname?) who was born 1800 and died 1888. Thomas' father's name was James, and his mother I believe was Sarah. But there are so many James Nortons who married Sarahs in the mid 18th century. I believe they lived in or near Shoreditch. The only marriage record I can find on-line was a James Norton who married a Sarah Gregsin in 1795. The dates fit, but I have no cross-reference. Can anyone help?
