I recently received info(without source documentation) that he is a son of Sampson Norton who is the son of William Norton and Jemima Pickerel. I have always had Sampson with only two sons; Sterling b abt 1811 and Jacob b abt 1812 with my only additional info that both were born in SC. This new info shows Sterling, does not show Jacob and has a DOB of 1820 in TN for Miles. It has a wife Melinda C ??? and 9 Children (6 born in Benton Co., Mo and 3 born in AR). Would appreciate confirmation any additional info on this family.

He died possessed of a goodly amount of property - leaving his son, William the "plantacon containing 880 acres," plus one other parcel of land containing 600 acres," and to daughter, Frances "400 acres of land adjoining the track of land whereon Thomas Newman now liveth," and to daughter, Elizabeth "150 acres of land which I bought of Patrick Norton" and "also to daughter, Elizabeth "200 acres of land where Thomas Newman now lives together with the Plantacon and all things belonging to it, she to enjoy the same as soon as the lease is out." His death certificate states that his birth place was Manchester England. He was living in Hancock and Harrison Counties Mississippi between 1860 and the late 1870s and was postmaster of the city of Hansboro. His son Henry Norton was born in Mississippi City which I believe is now Gulfport. He moved back to New Orleans where he died in 1904. Can anyone help me to identify his parents or siblings. Hello, I am looking to find any information about Patrick NORTON who was in Virginia in the early to mid-1600s and was the father of Penelope "Nelly" NORTON who married Matthew KELLY, born: Abt. 1640 in ?/VA?/England?, who were the parents of (Captain) John KELLY, born: Abt. 1660, 1st husband of Amy DONIPHAN, (daughter of Amie/Aimee/Amy PARTRIDGE and (Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN, Sr. whose 2nd wife was Margaret MOTT and his 3rd wife was Susannah ? Amy DONIPHAN married 2nd husband, Edward RANSDELL. Aimee/Amie/Amy PARTRIDGE was the sister of Samuel, Sarah, Elizabeth and Mary PARTRIDGE for whom I am also searching for information on their parents. They are believed to most likely be related to immigrant, George PARTRIDGE, who immigrated in the early 1600s from England to New England and Aimee/Amie/Amy PARTRIDGE and her siblings were also immigrants from England to Virginia. I have only just this past week received word about Penelope "Nelly" NORTON's maiden name of NORTON and her father being Patrick NORTON and no information regarding her mother's name, siblings, or ancestors in the NORTON lineage. My grandfather was born in 1872 and died in 1933. He was born to Johnny Norton and Carolyn King Norton. In Florida he went by the name Charles Hadley but I was told he changed his middle name from Ashley to Asbury to Hadley. However, on my fathers birth certificate it lists his middle as Haas? He was born in Laurance County, Alabama. Anybody have any information ??? Wanda
