What Norton line do you come from? My main Norton line is through William Norton & Jemema Pickerel. William was the son of Edward who was the son of Edward Norton. Both Edwards were born in Armagh Co., Ulster, North Ireland. Would be glad to swap info on various Norton branches. Barry

He is buried in Jasper , Pickens GA. There is no known connection to the NC Nortons at this point. My other Norton line was from the Mcaon Co. area and no known connections to Scotland Co., Have been approached about the DNA project but haven't done it due to cost and not sure what I would gain would be worth it. Good luck in your search.

We are still chasing that Thomas Norton(wife's line) William & Jemema(my line) connection. Miles F came from a listing of Sampson Norton's children but came without sources. Sampson was next to the youngest child of William and Jemima. I also have a lot of new info on Mercer Norton's line. He was a brother of William. Would love to swap info again. I'm in the middle of tax season and our owner just had emergency surgery so am having to open and close the office every day. Not sure when I will have time to get it together to send.

We are searching for same name born circa that time period in Scotland County NC. Was wondering if you had any information that your line was in NC with his family (wife Sarah Blue). We have a DNA project going for the Nortons and are finding interesting results. Appears there were several lines going into NC not showing close relationship to each other at all. Our particular line has had no connection with the NC Nortons present at that time yet we were there. Would you folks be interested in taking the DNA test? The more who test, the better our chances are in unraveling this whole mess of Nortons. Thanks and look forward to your reply Ruth and Bill Norton wnorton@ix.netcom.com

We have both been chasing Thomas Norton b. 1804 SC if memory serves me. Does this post mean you have found a connection? Or do I remember that you have connections on both husband/wife sides? We have just this week spoken to Nortons in Macon Co. NC who forwarded quite a bit on the Edward/Edward/William & Jemema Line. But we can't make a connection other than similarities in female names. If you have made another connection, would you mind sharing, or pointing us in the right direction? DC

Hello, I am Martha S.Elliott, the daughter of Annie Prudella Todd Cagle. My grandmother was Zelma M. Norton, born 4,May,1882 and died 28 Aug.1920. I believe that her parents were E.T. (?) Norton (B.1856- D. 1916) and Annie Norton (no maiden name), 1 June, 1863 to 6 Dec.1937. Zelma, E.T. and Annie are all buried at Rosedale Cemetery, Gladewater, Gregg, TX. Zelma was married to Homer O. Todd. All I know is that they lived around the East TX area. I believe the Nortons lived mostly in Gregg County although my grandmother, Zelma, lived here in Smith County some after her marriage. Any info. is greatly appreciated. marthae@cox-internet.com
