My direct line is Loren Norton b. 1797, son of David, who left Onondaga NY for Parkman, Geauga County OH, and then went to Palatine, Cook County IL. 3. My brickwall is John NORTON born 1727 in Hunton, Kent. The problem I have is that 99% of the Norton researchers I meet on-line are in the U.S. and I have no American connections! I have quite a bit of info on the Kent Nortons SINCE John, and can help out others. Charts are up on my website and I have more data not yet uploaded. 2. Hello, I am still searching for information regarding my immigrant paternal 9th great grandfather, Patrick NORTON, information I have seen approximates the date he was born in Abt. 1641 but not totally sure on that date and whose wife was named Margaret ? and they are known to have had a son named Thomas NORTON and a daughter named Penelope "Nelly" NORTON, and she married Matthew KELLY, born: Abt. 1640 probably in Virginia, and they were the parents of (Captain) John KELLY, born: Abt. 1660, who married Amy DONIPHAN, born: Abt. 1662, daughter of Amie PARTRIDGE, born: Abt. 1696, and (Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN, Sr.. Patrick and Margaret's daughter, Penelope "Nelly" NORTON, later married 2nd husband, Lawrence BAKER, but I don't have any other information on him. And Amy DONIPHAN's 2nd husband was Edward RANSDELL. Patrick NORTON lived in Old Rappahannock County, Virginia, later part of Richmond County, Virginia, and he was associated with individuals named SULLIVAN(T)/SWILLIVENT, BURRAGE, CLARK, LENTON, DOWTY, JEFFRIES, BELL and CARMELL. Any my KELLY married into JENNINGS, PAYNE and ROBINSON out of Old Rappahannock in the early to mid-1600s as well. Sincerely, Bellinda Myrick - Barnett

    1. Re: [NORTON] Roll Call and Brick Walls
    2. My g.g.g. grandfather James Norton arrived about July 3, 1849 in America from County Roscommon, Ireland. James (b. 1812) and his wife Ann Dolon (b. 1813) Norton and children settled in Lebanon Springs, Columbia County, New York. After about 10 years they settled in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois. James & Anne's Children: Mathew, Roseann, Marie, James C., Katherine, Charles, Louisa, We can trace my line from New York State, to Illinois and then James C. Norton and his wife Margaret Sisk moved to Saline County, Nebraska. Our brick wall is tracing our James Norton line back to County Roscommon, Ireland. The only clues to where they lived was in bio we found. We could only make out Athlone and the first three letters of a town or village..."Coo".............We would like to find descendants that might have these answers. So, we need some help to find the location of our ancestorial home in Roscommon and the names of our ancestors in Ireland. Thank you, Mary Boudreau
