Maine. She was born between 1886 and 1887. She was married to or had at least three children with Benjami F. Hutchins (B.1884 d. 1962) of Andover, Maine. He deserted her in 1925. She died in 1941? and is buried in Cumberland Center, Maine.
I've been working on Lillian Norton's family line out of Farmington Maine. She had a sister, Imogene, who ma: Emilio Del Castillo, prob. in the Boston area. Imogene and Emilio eventually moved to Los Angeles, and were there in 1910. Does anyone attached to this list live in or near LA? I believe Imogene Norton/Castillo had two children, and one was Edwin Norton Castillo, named for her father. I'd LOVE to find out more about her. No one in the family seems to give out any info. Nancy

I have my Fletcher line back to Robert Fletcher in 1680's there about in America. Will share. Now my problem: Laben Norton Matteson b. 1812 in Arlington, Vermont married 1843 in Labenon, NY by Ira Hand the Justice of Peace to Clarissa Daniels b. 1816 of Massechusetts. Who are his parents??? Was his mother a Norton??? They lived near the Daniels family for awhile in New Adams, Mass, then moved to Stamford, Vt during the Civil war where two of their sons, Oscar and Albert served. After the war they family moved to Warren Co. Illinois. The names: Laben, Norton, George, Oscar, Andrew keep reaccurring. Clarissa Daniels father was Johnson Daniels his wife was Rhoda King. What can DNA show? 1) We have been able to prove the paper research for the Norton's of Bourbon, Greenup and Pendleton Kentucky as well as confirm an unknown relationship there. We have identified that the Norton family of Grant, KY is not related. 2) In addition we have found suprising results with the Nortons of Horry and Marion SC. Linking two families that did not know they had a common relative. 3) We have a match with NC Nortons. 4) We have samples from an Irish Norton and a Martha's Vineyard Norton. We need to establish a DNA signature for the Conetticut Nortons. Soon you will be able to submit your DNA test and find out which of the Norton branches you belong to. Nortonfamily.net will pay for selected tests. More info can be found at www.nortonfamily.net Thanks

Saw the message 5/31 regarding Mariah and thought it might sound familiar. However, I don't think this is necessarily the persons you seek. I live in Southern New Jersey -- right across the river from Philadelphia, and my GGGF immigrated from England, was a Methodist circuit minister, and settled along the river in Logan Township. His farm, and that of his son, were later donated for a Methodist Church which is now dwarfed by the industrial park that surrounds it! Here's the possible names I found in our genealogy: Mary E. Norton - born 1841 daughter of John D. and Sarah (census). John D. Norton was born 3/10/1810 and died 11/4/1861, was married 1822 to Sara Shinn Davidson, b 1803-d 1888. John was son of Benjamin. Benjamin Norton was born 1775 and on 5/25/1797 married Sara Dilks. ~~~ However, John D. had a brother, son of Benjamin, whose name was William. William married a MARIAH DAVIDSON (1807-1886), and they raised 8 children together. Her death is suposedly local as she has a tombstone in the church cemetery. Now, one of their children is listed as MARIA but she was born in 1844, and was listed in one place as "died in infancy". ~~~ Now, if anyone else needs Norton information from South Jersey, or a trip to the cemetery to check things out, I may already have the record. I do photograph tombstones when they are located -- in my own attempt to locate "all of us!" __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
