This Milford, Ct branch is almost exclusively Northrup/Northrop. I think your ancestor is descended from Stephen Northup, who came into the New World in 1645 to Rhode Island. His descendents are almost exclusively Northup. I did a quick search on my database and came up wit no known Lucinda Sheffield. I have a lot of Alberts listed, but nothing seems to be a match.
