Specifically looking for information pertaining to the William H. Northup family and descendants. I have reason to believe his wife, Harriette L. is my maternal GG aunt (sister to my G grandfather, Lyman GARDNER). William, Harriette and two of their children, William H. Jr. and Bertha were listed on the 1930 Federal census. At that time, William's age was listed as 55, born in RI and his occupation was listed as a painter. His parents were listed as being born in MA (father) and RI (mother). Harriette was 45 at time this census was taken (April) and their children's ages were listed as 11 and 9 respectfully. Also listed on this census was my GG grandfather, Lorenzo GARDNER, age 72; the census listed his relationship to William as "father-in-law". Would like to locate more information about this Northup family and possible descendants. Thank you in advance.

Though I'm not sure about his mother, since she was an "off the boat" Swedish woman and the family basically disliked her and would not allow her to be buried in the family plot, I don't know where she is. I have tried for years to get information from my father, but he seems reluctant at times to give it and maybe forgetful. I'm not even sure where his sister, Ellen, was buried.

He married a Bridget Rady in Saratoga Springs, NY in 1863. I have a copy of their wedding records from St. Peters Church. In 1869 Bridget died and left a lengthy will. I have a copy of this will and in it Lyman signs off from his two children by Bridget - George and Elizabeth. They were adopted by two Catholic families in Milton, NY. After this date I cannot find Lyman anywhere. There are several Lymans but none seem to be the right match. I found a young Lyman age 15 in the 1860 census in Granville, Washington Co., NY but after that he disappears. His father was Carr and his grandfather was Clark Northup. Does anyone have any records of this Lyman Northup? He is a second cousin of Lyman Hall Northup the lawyer who lived in Washington Co. also and also of Henry B. Northup a lawyer also, brother of Lyman Hall. Thanks in advance for your help.
