That way you can look through the nearby years for baptisms, marriages, burials of any other NEWMANs. They are usually very helpful Heather I assume the register will be in Tyne and Wear Archives, and you should write to them at: Tyne and Wear Archives, Blandford House, Blandford Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 ---.
