Hi, Last year I managed to go to Woodhorn to try and find my Grandad's baptism among other things. I didn't find it, and its very unlikely that I will get to Woodhorn again. I am hoping that someone who is going there sometime in the future and will do a quick look up for me please, to see if they can find his baptism. His name is John Wallace SWINDLE, and was born on 11th December 1898. On the 1901 census, it says he was born at West Allen, Northumberland. Here is the census entry in 1901 for him and his family. Mohope is the only Church records I didn't look at. When I went to Woodhorn, I looked at the baptisms of Ninebanks and West Allen (Cof E)Allendale Town, Allendale Wesleyan Methodist, Hesleywell (Wesley) Allen Heads Bethal, Allendale High House and Allendale St Cuthbert. Hello Jan I was at Woodhorn yesterday and looked up Mohope Methodist baptisms. I checked both films of the original registers. Woodhorn - Films M1899 and M576. There were very few baptisms in the book so I checked between 1880-1933 but there were no SWINDLE’s at all.
