    3. Hi Malcolm, Coincidentally I was born and raised in Victoria, BC, but currently live elsewhere. I found the information re Joseph William Anderson on 'Findmypast.com' to which I have a subscription. I find it has useful info on it that one doesn't always find on Ancestry, especially with regard to certain British military matters. Although one can probably find pretty much the same info from the Commonwealth Graves site as long as one's person of interest was killed in action. If he was Canadian then the Library and Archives Canada site is where one would want to search for WW1 ancestors under the Canadian Expeditionary Forces searchable database: http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/first-world-war/first-world-war-1914-1918-cef/Pages/search.aspx which has scanned accession papers available for free. Lots of good info on them. My great-uncle, born 1898 in Low Fell, Gateshead, emigrated to Canada in 1912, enlisted in 1916 as I think he thought it was the only way he would get to see England again. He got shot for his efforts but at least survived the war. Best wishes, Trudi On 19/07/2014 1:46 PM, MALCOLM CAMPBELL wrote: > Hi Trudi, > > I notice in your reply you are in B.C, but it doesn't say where.
