    3. Hi Bill, Do not discount two sons named the same from different marriages. I have two instances - One in the 1800s - two Williams born to the same parents, both alive at the same time (from census). One in the twentieth century, couple had a son called Peter, he survived, they then divorced, Mum married again and guess what, she called one of her new sons Peter who also survived - so two sons from the same mother both named Peter.
