Hi Gwyneth Edwin's daughters were well known here in Gateshead, Ruth Dodds even has a Wikipedia article which mentions her father as being "bookbinder and historian Edwin Dodds". The article is wrong in one respect, Edwin had four daughters, not three. It also fails to mention Edwin's principal occupation: Printer Another daughter, Madelaine Hope Dodds, was a noted historian: http://www.sclews.me.uk/m-dodds.html Home House, Low Fell, which is now a home for unmarried mothers, has a blue plaque commemorating the three famous sisters http://www.bpears.org.uk/Misc/Gateshead_Plaques/#DoddsSisters http://www.flickr.com/photos/75930102@N06/7266734016/ The unmentioned fourth sister was Mary Muriel Dodds, and there was also a son, Brian Mawson Dodds, who followed his father into the printing industry. 3. Hi Brian & Graham, Thanks for the suggestions. Edwin is my G-Granduncle. I have now ordered all his children's Wills. Interesting to find out the change of occupation of Home House, I believe Edwin's signature is still etched in the windowsill. I didn't find Edwin's Will in the National Calendar, perhaps not probated. Thanks again, Gwyneth in a hot, steamy Sydney
