I'm trying to find out anything about the parents of John SINCLAIR and Margaret WRIGHTSON (my great great grandparents). I just received a copy of heir marriage certificate. It means that some family trees online that include them, must be wrong about their parents. John and Margaret were married on 23 August 1859 in a United Presbyterian Church in Newcastle Upon Tyne. John Sinclair's (32 years) occupation Tobacconist, his father James Sinclair a Leather Dresser. Margaret Wrightson (20 years), father Stephen Wrightson, a Stone Dresser. I'm pretty certain James Sinclair would have been from and in Orkney. While I would have though Stephen Wrightson would have been from Newcastle or thereabouts. John Sinclair's obituary says he was from Edinburgh, and spent his early years in Orkney before moving to Newcastle Upon Tyne (where he lived for the rest of his life. Thanks, Carolyn
