    3. Drewa: When you say "registered" I think you mean "baptised" and what you give as the birth date is actually the date of baptism, as is usual for baptism entries, especially those from before the introduction of civil registration in 1837. I am at a loss to know what you mean by "Wally A" and therefore shall not comment on it. Doddington parish register for that period does not mention occupations and gives only crude addresses, in this case "Doddington", which probably means "somewhere in Doddington village". Indeed, that is probably all that would be required, even today, Doddington village is so tiny. I do not have any note of them being twins, although of course they might well have been. Perhaps you have other evidence of that. They were baptised on the same day but that might have been a new-born baby and an older one whose baptism had "slipped through the net". The List of those liable to be balloted for the Northumberland Militia, drawn up in 1762, nine years before those baptisms, amounts almost to a list of all males in each parish aged 16 to 45. It includes only one John Anderson from Doddington parish and he is recorded as having been (in 1762) a "gardiner", ie a gardener. I would say that chances are that is the same as the father of 1771, though that is by no means certain.
