Hi Gwyneth Not sure what you mean by buy the probate? The will on Ancestry is the probate, his will from the Prerogative Court of Canterbury In my experience, although hard to read, the most benefit is gained by transcribing it yourself, although they look daunting you soon get the knack of reading them You are lucky in this case as there is a Bank of England extract for his will (available on findmypast) which names :- widow Jane SKEFFINGTON Executors James FARQUHAR Edward REEVES John DODDS Sons Thomas SKEFFINGTON James Farquhar SKEFFINGTON Daughters Jane SKEFFINGTON Mary Ann SKEFFINGTON Ann Dodds SKEFFINGTON <https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Bank_of_England_Will_Extracts> Thomas SKEFFINGTON married Jane DODDS in London in 1797 All of the above being in London its perhaps better to post on a London list or perhaps I missed something? Hi Nivard, Yes I always try to read them myself however today I have gone blind trying, will keep trying (recovering from the flu so a good occupation). I was just wondering if there was an easier way as it is rather long and involved. I also know that some years later another opinion on the Will was sort (I have copy of that). I have tried the London List with no success. I haven't used Findmypast before, will check out the costs as I have a full registration with Ancestry. Thomas also mentions his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws which would help me with extra relatives. Many thanks for your help, Cheers Gwyneth Sydney
