This company was owned William Slater & Co. Ltd. Now Tyne Taxis I remember this company, and if I remember correctly had an office in Waterloo Place, or maybe Pink Lane. I believe they were bought out, but do not know by who or who the previous owner was. I sure Tyne Taxis were gone in the early 1970s. I have checked Business Directories 1894, 1921, 1936 & 1938 for Newcastle upon Tyne taxi cabs and only Slater's were mentioned. And no Tyne or a Talbot was mentioned as a taxi cab proprietor. I suggest you check out later business directories in Newcastle Central Library.
