Hi All I hope that someone from North Shields can remember if 56 Bedford Street was ever a Confectioners or something similar. William Brownlee married Elizabeth Cowell in 1897. He was described at that time as a Seaman. However by 1911 he was a Confectioner and living at 106 HIgh Street, Wallsend. In 1931 Elizabeth died in 65 Bedford Street, I know that end of Bedford Street has a lot of shops, with flats above them. Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree bit any information anyone can give would be appreciated! Regards Dave Fell
