If you select Browse by Location, and use Northumberland as the search criterion, you get a list of directories to search. William Brownlee married Elizabeth Cowell in 1897. He was described at that time as a Seaman. However by 1911 he was a Confectioner and living at 106 HIgh Street, Wallsend. In 1931 Elizabeth died in 65 Bedford Street, I know that end of Bedford Street has a lot of shops, with flats above them.
