He was involved in the aftermath of the 3rd Anglo Burmese war, served briefly as a bugler, and according to his Chelsea Pension records received the India Campaign Medal with 2 clasps for Burma 1887-9 and 1889-92. He appears in the medal roll WO100/73 as CAMPBELL R Pte . He was discharged from the army on 11 April 1898. He was in India between 1889 to 1894. So if you have lost a man in 1891 perhaps he joined up too! -- Helen Oram
