Robert, My comments below refer only to civil registrations of births, marriages and deaths indexed on the FreeBMD website. On the web site I myself deal most frequently with the Registration District once called Tynemouth. Transcription is currently taking place. Roughly speaking Marriages are now up to 1940s, Births and Deaths up to 1930s. It seems not to be an "exact science" as progress varies from surname to surname. But about a year ago transcription had only reached early 1920s.So it is moving along. Michael Dixon
