    3. Hi Heather, I was wondering whether you thought that Burtree may be the birthplace of Isaac's wife. There is a Burtree ford near Cowshill in upper Weardale. This area was in the parish of Stanhope. What was Isaac's wife's maiden name?? She may well have been baptised at Stanhope and if so you could look that up on the Familysearch BT site.. 3. Thanks John I have not been able to ascertain Maria's maiden name - nothing on the IGI for their marriage.. According to the CENSUS records she was born around 1813/4 and they were probably married in about 1835as the oldest child was born in 1836! According to the IGI there were 21 Marys bpt in Stanhope at around that time - and 8 Marias! I will have to order the birth certificate of one of their younger children to get her maiden name.
