Hello I am trying to work out the place of birth of Andrew Reed c 1815. I found him on freecen in 1861, living in Trimdon, with wife Sarah (nee Storey, married 1838) and children - birthplace transcribed as Moussion, Bedfordshire In 1881 he described as being born in Mewsome, Northumberland Neither of these places make sense to me, any ideas? I have found a couple of his children on IGI christened in Roman Catholic churches 1) Ann 1850 (my GG grandmother) at St Mary's, Newcastle (she was born in Gateshead) 2) John 1852 at St Joseph's, Gateshead I wondered whether the father was Catholic and if either of these were likely to be him ... how can I tell either way ...? do any of these help placing the birthplace? 1) ANDREA REED Male Birth: 17 OCT 1813 Christening: 18 OCT 1813 Roman Catholic, Ellingham, Northumberland, England Father: JOANNIS REED Mother: JANAE LAWSON 2) ANDREUS REID Male Birth: 16 AUG 1816 Christening: 01 SEP 1816 Roman Catholic, Berwick Upon Tweed, Northumberland, England Father: ANDREI REID Mother: ISABELLAE HALL I hope I have provided enough information.
