    1. [NMB] Elizabeth Falcus. Who was her father?
    2. Fairless, Michael
    3. I am hoping that someone can perhaps help me identify the following Elizabeth Falcus. I have checked the Bishops Transcripts for All Saints (page numbers are given below as references if anyone wants to look at the actual transcript) but I think my main hope lies in finding out from any subsequent records, the date of birth of Elizabeth (perhaps her age when she died as Elizabeth Patterson?). As can be seen from the notes she seems rather confused about who her father was and his occupation ! Elizabeth FALCUS married Matthew PATTERSON 20.9.1803 All Saints (Bishops pg 179) On the baptism record of their first son (Bishops pg.248), the record states Thomas Patterson 11.10.1804 13.01.1805 All Saints, first son of Matthew Patterson 'yeoman' of this chapelry by his wife, Elizabeth daughter of Thomas Falcus, cordwainer of Gateshead On the baptism record of their first daughter (Bishops pg.388), the record states Elizabeth Patterson 11.12.1806 11.01.1807 All Saints, first daughter son of Matthew Patterson 'cartman' of this chapelry by his wife, Elizabeth daughter of William Falcus, soldier of Gateshead On the baptism record of their second daughter (Bishops pg.538), the record states Isabella Patterson 29.09.1809 25.12.1809 All Saints, second daughter of Matthew Patterson 'labourer' of this parish by his wife, Elizabeth daughter of [blank] Falcus, soldier of Gateshead On the baptism record of their second son (Bishops pg.695), the record states Matthew Patterson 04.09.1812 29.11.1812 All Saints, second son of Matthew Patterson 'cartman' of this parish by his wife, Elizabeth daughter of Edward Falcus, soldier of Gateshead The only one I can get close to is Elizabeth bapt 1.2.1779 Gateshead daughter of Ed. Falcus although Thomas bapt 12.5.1765 son of John Falcus (a cordwainer) and Sarah Swan could be a candidate as could his brother William bapt 24.5.1767 (occupation not know) but I have no marriage details for either Thomas or William.. Certainly an Edward Falcus was a 'soldier' for about 33 years at 1803 and his wife was believed to be an Elizabeth Joly. Many thanks Mike Fairless
