Thanks to all who wrote back about Holy Island records. Many great suggestions which I will follow up. One thing that didn't even occur to me was that Holy Islanders could have hopped across the border to Scotland to get married for instance. Since Holy Island in located in the border region of north-east England very close to Scotland and was part of the lands that were ripped back and forth between England and Scotland, that does make sense.
