The 1861 gives Weardale and the 1851 gives Stanhope> As a Newcastle ex-pat now in Sheffield I can point you to Bawtry in South Yorkshire. Google brings it up instantly and it is south of Doncaster on the A638. I'm sorry I can't do OS grid refs! This is the only Bawtry I know and am not aware of one in either Newcastle or Northumberland. I hope this does not raise more questions than it answers!!! David Lawson
