Hi I am not sure if you have been there but the workhouses website www.workhouses.org.uk has a picture and some information on the Gateshead Cottage Homes Click on children and Education and then Cottage Homes. There is a link to the Gateshead workhouse and then at the bottom of that page, plans and descriptions of the Cottage Homes (at Shotley Bridge!) .
