Hi Jack. The LDS Library catalogue shows that they have various films of the Parish Registers for Ellilngham beginning 1695-1942 there may be gaps in those years. You can hire the film/s at your nearest LDS centre for a reasonable hire fee. Go to the familysearch site at www.familysearch.org and in the toolbar at the top of the page click on the Search Records tab, there will see in the drop down list Library Catalog, click there and then select Place Search. Type Ellingham in the top box and Northumberland in the lower box and click search. Once you get up a list of results select Parish Records, and this will give you a list of options for those PRs., amongst which you will see the title Parish Register of Ellingham (Northumberland) 1695-1942. Select that item and then in the top right corner of the page click on the link "View Film Notes". On that page you will see a short description of each film available with it's relevant number to order a copy by. Once the film/s arrive you will be advised and can book a reader at that centre and then go and view your film as many times as you like over the next month, the term of hire for films. By paying the same fee again the film will be kept indefinitely for you. . Unfortunately the LDS do not seem to have any Church Records on film listed in their catalogue for Shipley Northumberland. I tried to find Shipley listed on the Northumberland & County Durham pages of the Genuki site, www.genuki.org.uk but could not find such a place listed. Could Shipley be a very small place that comes into a larger parish perhaps? Maybe you would need to order the PRs for the nearest place to Shipley, if you can find where Shipley is situaed. You can find the address of your nearest LDS centre by going to the home page of their site above where you should see a section on finding addresses of their centres around the world. Hope this helps.
