Jan, It is very probable that "your" Horse Close is one of the two within the Parish of Haltwhistle, and not the other Horse Close farms/communities, eg. near Mickley, Simonburm parish etc. For modern day photos of the Horse Close farm within the Melkridge Township of Haltwhistle use "NY740640" ( or "NY7464) as search criterion with in web site _www.geograph.org.uk_ (http://www.geograph.org.uk) The photos are supplemented by a small clear map.
