Hi All, I have recently learned that my husband is descended from Joseph Tyzack b c1781 in Newcastle-on-Tyne. His father was also Joseph of Newcastle. Supposedly his mother is unknown, and he is considered illegitimate. Joseph b1871 was a ships carpenter in the Navy working in Chatham in 1805. He was married briefly to Dinah Taylor in England. Later he went to Quebec where he married Margaret Cairncross in 1808. Eventually, they settled in Lanark, Ontario. There is a Joseph Tysick (the spelling changed later in Canada) Site on the web which gives his supposed family back to Lorraine where they were the Du Thisac glassblowers. They were Hugenots who went to Newcastle about 1400. Is anyone on this list familiar with this Tyzack family? I would like to find Joseph Sr.'s birth about 1750-1760 in Newcastle. His possible parents are George Tyzack and Dorothy Millburn. I would also like to know if he ever married? And I would like to find the exact birth of Joseph Tyzack Jr in Newcastle c1871. The IGI has the Abt. 1871 date. Any help greatly appreciated, Joan Ottawa
