Hello the list, I have on the 1911 census a THOMAS DODDS, born in Newburn! in 1867. I think there was also a connection with the HEDDON family somewhere along the line! Is anyone out there redearching these families? I would be grateful for any information regarding decendants, both deceased and living! Kind regards John Richardson Eaton Socon Cambridgeshire

Hi, John: A wild shot in the dark. A Thomas R Dodd (singular), stationer, published Dodd's Almanac from Hendon Road, Sunderland, for several years both sides of 1900. Copies exist in the S'land Public Library. I have no bmd details, but 1867 sounds plausible. In my experience, people write Dodd with or without an 's', 2 or 3 'd's, using any vowel, and so on: ou should see my mail. Even the august Lloyd's Register of Shipping made my great grandfather plural. Bruce Dodd Ottawa.
