The Reilley's don't ring a bell. I remember the father worked for Fentaman's pop factory. I also remember taking in a grass snake that belonged to a girl who lived around your house but cannot recall her name now. You won't know me because as you left in 1955 I was only in the infants school then. Do you remember any of the names of people in Liddell Terr and do you have any of the Victory day photos. My relations lived there from 1939 I believe. I have fond memories of those days - long ago now. There was a great big ash tree at the bottom of our garden which was opposite the first entrance to the tenement block as you came from Bensham Road. I think the Irish family you were referring to were the Reillys? John,Pat,Terry, Ronnie and a little 'un. And my house No 18 is also at Beamish but I think it has been designated a dentists house (from before my family's time) because it wasn't a dentists house when I lived there. I also remember the Victory party in Liddell Terrace, I won a couple of running races!!! So who were you and which house were you in. I seem to recall the two doors immediately before the tenements but I don't remember any young girls!!! My uncle ( Marian street born 1935) went to school with the Fentiman pop son and still knows him. They restarted the company and the National Trust stock their drinks as do Fenwick. MMM Dandelion and burdock. Must have been a sweet smelling area as my husband's memories of Granny in Sidney Grove are of the smell of chinese laundry. I have school photos from my other uncle of classes( lady Vernon?) He was born 1947/8. A think the poshness factor was deemed higher in Liddell so perhaps not.
