Durham and later moved to Carr Hill, Heworth, Gateshead via Newcastle on Tyne. Ralph ROBSON married Ann CONSTANTINE on 16 Apr 1843 in Monkwearmouth. I believe that Ann was born in Langcliffe on 19 Aug 1821 (IGI) the daughter of William CONSTANTINE and Ellen REDMAYNE. (IGI has her born in Giggleswick) she is also recorded as coming from Settle in C71. Ralph is possibly the Ralph ROBSON born in Bishopwearmouth on 19 Oct 1808 parents Ralph ROBSON and Sarah ANTHONY. (IGI) He was recorded as a widower on their marriage certificate. Jan: You are lucky in that your Ralph Robson was baptised during the "Barrington period" (1798-1812), when baptism records in C of E churches throughout the Diocese of Durham were very fully detailed. That for Ralph reads (ex-H M Wood transcript): Ralph Robson, (birth) 19 Oct, (baptism) 20 Nov, 4th son of Ralph Robson, bottlemaker, N[ative] of South Shields, by his wife Sarah, late Anthony, N[ative] of Sunderland. No doubt a little search in the registers of Bishopwearmouth and/or South Shields, aided perhaps by the IGI, would reveal Ralph's three elder brothers and possibly other siblings. Geoff Nicholson
